California International University (CIU) was established in 1973 as a liberal arts university for international students. Since that time, the University has provided international students with instruction in English and degree programs in business management and international business.
Situated in Los Angeles, CIU is an ideal location for students of international business. Los Angeles is one of the world's great marketplaces and lies in the center of one of the world's dynamic economies. Although many languages are used in the city, English remains the common language for business. California International University has maintained its excellent English Language Center for the purpose of developing the international student's English language skills.
Since 1994, CIU has been licensed to operate as a degree-granting institution by the State of California's Bureau for Private Postsecondary and Vocational Education. Today, in its new facility on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California International University continues to provide a faculty and staff of qualified professionals dedicated to the spirit of learning and to the educational enrichment of each individual student. California International University is an international community of students and teachers. This community seeks to encourage a stimulating intellectual environment in which there is mutual respect, tolerance, appreciation for diversity, and a free exchange of ideas.
